Annual Parking Review - Herne Bay

As part of our Annual Parking Review, we're proposing the below changes to parking restrictions in Herne Bay. 

You can share your views on the proposals by completing our survey before Friday 21 February. Any objections will be reported to councillors at the Joint Transportation Board on 24 March.

Location Proposal
Albion Lane

To extend the existing double yellow lines to cover the area opposite Forgefields as parked cars obstruct the flow of traffic.

Ashbee Gardens

To introduce double yellow lines on the bend outside 21-33 Ashbee Gardens, as cars parked on the bend obstruct access to properties and hinder visibility on the bend.

Grange Road and King Edward Avenue  To extend the existing double yellow lines near the junction with Landon Road as parked cars block visibility for drivers turning out of Landon Road.
Herne Street

To extend the existing double yellow lines outside 30-46 Herne Street, on the approach to Herne, to reduce congestion and improve air quality in the village.

Lancaster Gardens and Osborne Gardens

To introduce double yellow lines at the junction as cars parked at the junction obstruct refuse collection vehicles.

Love Street Close

To extend the existing double yellow lines at the junction with Gilchrist Avenue and around the first bend, as parked cars appear to be causing heavy vehicles to run over and damage the pavement.

Minster Drive

To introduce double yellow lines at the entrance to Thwaytes Court and opposite to protect access for fire fighting vehicles.

Montague Street and Oxenden Square

To introduce double yellow lines at the junction as parked cars obstruct refuse collection vehicles.

Mortimer Street

To change the existing single yellow lines to double yellow lines outside 64-72 Mortimer Street to avoid obstruction of an access.

Oxenden Park Drive 

To extend the existing double yellow lines near the junction with Albany Drive, as parked cars obstruct access to and from drives and hinder access for large vehicles.

Reculver Road and Grange Road 

To extend the existing double yellow lines at the junction as parking obstructs access to and from properties.

Ridgeway Road 

To introduce double yellow lines between the farm and Albion Lane as parked cars obstruct access for deliveries to the farm.

Sea Street 

To fill in the gap in the double yellow lines outside 192-194 Sea Street and remove the double yellow lines opposite, as cars parked by non-residents obstruct driveways.

Spenser Road 

To introduce double yellow lines at the entrance to the bowling club as parked cars obstruct visibility.

Stanley Road and Kings Road 

To introduce double yellow lines at the junction as parked cars obstruct turning traffic.

Station Road  To introduce double yellow lines outside 64 and 87 Station Road to create a space for buses and large vehicles to pass.
Streetfield

To extend the existing double yellow lines to cover the junction outside 13 Streetfield, as parked cars obstruct driveway access.

The Meadows and Plough Court

To introduce double yellow lines at the junction because parked cars can obstruct refuse collection vehicles.

Western Esplanade 

To introduce double yellow lines at the crossings as cars parked across the crossings prevent pedestrians from crossing.

Westlands Road and Clare Drive

To introduce double yellow lines opposite the junction as parked cars obstruct traffic at the junction.

Windmill Road, Mill Lane and Mill View Road 

To introduce double yellow lines at the junctions due to inconsiderate parking.
