More public safety signs have been added to a number of groynes near The Street at Tankerton following two recent cases where people got into difficulty.
Although the council believes incidents like these to be unusual, safety along the coastline is taken very seriously. Following an inspection by foreshore officers, it was decided more signs should be added to be on the safe side.
Lifeguards at Tankerton are also patrolling the area at low tide time to advise people about how to stay safe.
When using The Street, people are urged to be aware of tide times and how quickly the conditions can change. Parents should also remind their children about staying safe along the coastline.
