We’re looking at changing the way the residents’ parking scheme works in Nunnery Road, Norman Road, Prospect Place, Martindale Close and part of Nunnery Fields so that non-permit holders could only park for two hours.
In practical terms, this would mean moving these roads from the St Mildred’s zone into the St George’s zone. The annual cost of permits would increase from £60 to £83 and the two hour time limit would apply 24 hours a day, every day of the week.
If the change is made then residents with permits will be able to park anywhere in the St George’s zone without a time limit. Similarly, all St George’s permit holders would be able to park in the roads that have transferred over.
It is important that we know the views of residents about this proposal. Because of the implications for residents, we would only go ahead if we know that more than 75% of households want us to make this change. If they do then we would start the legal processes involved in making the changes. If the required proportion of residents are not in favour then we would not reconsider changes to residents’ parking in this area for at least another three years.
Please help us by completing our online questionnaire by Friday 6 July so that we can decide whether to go ahead with making this change.
