A working group of councillors will meet in September to make recommendations for new polling districts and polling places.
These proposals will be considered by the Policy and Resources Committee on 9 October 2019 with a recommendation being made to Council on 17 October 2019 so that the revised polling districts can be reflected in the Register of Electors which will be published by 30 November 2019.
Review of polling districts and polling places
The council is currently reviewing polling districts and polling places across the district and is looking for feedback.
Polling districts are the areas wards are divided into and polling places are the locations polling stations are at or near to. The council is required by law to review these by January 2020.
The review will assess whether polling places are in the right locations to ensure reasonable facilities are provided for electors, with a particular focus on accessibility for people with disabilities.
We are looking for feedback on any aspect of polling districts and/or the polling stations currently used and invite feedback from electors, local political parties and disability groups.
