Crews head out to clean up A2 verges

If you’ve been along the section of the A2 through our patch this week, you may have noticed Canenco’s crews hard at work cleaning the verges.

This would normally be the time we would illustrate this with a variety of pretty unpleasant images, often involving plastic bottles filled with suspiciously coloured ‘liquid’.

But not today! The picture above is the best – or worst? – we can do.

And that’s because this work is a real priority for us, and we’re out and about regularly to try and keep on top of it.

With one day left to go, the crews have picked up around a tonne of litter. This, of course, is still one tonne too much. We’d far rather there be nothing, and then we wouldn’t need to bother in the first place.

Nevertheless, the fact that there has been much less litter than normal is hopefully a sign that more people have been doing the right thing and either keeping hold of their rubbish or using the layby bins, rather than just chucking stuff out of their windows. And we thank them for it!

We’ll be back out again soon enough, working hard to keep the district as clean as it possibly can be.
