Wincheap ward set for city council by-election

Following the resignation of Cllr Roben Franklin, a by-election for Wincheap ward will take place on Thursday 13 November.
Some important dates and details to be aware of:
- The deadline to be registered to vote in this election is Tuesday 28 October. This can be done on the national government website
- The deadline to apply for a postal vote for the election is 5pm on Wednesday 29 October – apply online
- The deadline to apply for a proxy vote for the election, or for a Voter Authority Certificate (for photo identification purposes), is 5pm on Wednesday 5 November
- On polling day, polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm as usual
- The count will be held on Friday 14 November with a result announced later that day
Wincheap ward residents only need to register to vote if they are not already registered, and they do not need to apply for a postal vote if they already have one.
