Festivals and events funding consultation

The current contracts for the delivery of the Canterbury Food and Drink Festival and Whitstable Oyster Festival are coming to an end during the current financial year and delivery of the existing contract terms required by the council has been difficult. The council is also facing significant budget pressures. 

As a result, the council is proposing not to renew the subsidies for these events as well as to stop providing grant funding for Bayfest.

Our Events Officer would still continue to provide support for the delivery of events in the district through advice and guidance on other funding opportunities, identifying suitable sites, and safe and community focused event management.
