Draft Housing Strategy

We are asking residents, organisations and local partners for their views on our draft Housing Strategy, which will help shape the future of housing across the district over the next five years.

The strategy sets out how the council, organisations, businesses and communities can work together to:

  • understand the housing challenges we face and local housing needs
  • deliver the council’s vision for housing across the district
  • provide more affordable homes
  • improve the quality of existing council homes

This consultation seeks feedback on the draft Housing Strategy, including its priorities and ambitions. We want to know:

  • what you think are the most important housing priorities for the district
  • your views on the council’s ambition to increase the number of council homes
  • what type of affordable housing is most needed
  • any other comments you may have about housing priorities in the district

The consultation also includes specific questions for developers and registered providers about housing delivery, viability and constraints.

Have your say

Read the draft Housing Strategy and give us your views by completing our survey by 9am on Wednesday 15 April.

Alternatively, you can email your comments to consultations@canterbury.gov.uk or write to Policy Team, Canterbury City Council, 14 Rose Lane, Canterbury, CT1 2UR.

Paper copies of the questionnaire are available on request. If you would like a copy, please email consultations@canterbury.gov.uk.

If you would like to see what you will be asked before starting the survey, you can view the questions.
