Tree and Woodland Strategy
This consultation asked for views on our draft Tree and Woodland Strategy.
Trees and woodlands provide a range of benefits, including:
- providing habitats for nature and wildlife
- adding vibrancy and shade to urban areas
- mitigating the effects of climate change
- improving air quality
The draft strategy sets out how we plan to protect what we currently have as well as increasing trees and woodlands.
We want to work together with residents, communities, partners, landowners and businesses to help us realise our vision for trees and woodlands in the district.

Consultation closed on Monday 16 January.
All the feedback we receive will be reported to councillors later in 2023 who will decide whether to make any changes to the draft strategy before it is adopted.
