Your involvement in our housing service

We are excited to launch our Tenant Engagement Review, dedicated exclusively to our social housing tenants.

We want to know what you think about the service we run and how we can get better.

Over the past three years, we’ve offered a wide range of opportunities for you to get involved and have your voice heard in shaping our housing services. These activities have ranged from formal involvement in meetings to fun community events, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Some of the ways tenants have participated include:

Resident Engagement Panel (REP): a formal group providing direct feedback and influencing decision-making
Independent Living Forum (ILF): a platform focused on improving services for tenants in independent living schemes
Disability Forum: a space for tenants with disabilities to share their experiences and suggest improvements
Becoming a Community Champion: helping drive change and build stronger communities by taking part in activities such as estate inspections, working with us to identify areas for improvement in local neighbourhoods
Annual garden competition: a summer event celebrating the creativity and efforts of our green-fingered residents
Annual Tenant Survey: designed to understand how satisfied tenants are with our performance and identify areas for improvement
Tenant newsletter: providing regular updates and news from your housing service, keeping you informed about key developments.

Now, we want to hear from you!

Whether you’ve been involved in the past or are new to these opportunities, your feedback is essential.

What do you need from us to feel more engaged in your housing service? What types of activities and support would you like to see?

This is your chance to shape how we work together in the future, so please share your thoughts and ideas.

Have your say

Give us your views by completing our questionnaire by 5pm on Monday 6 January 2025.

Alternatively, you can email your comments to consultations@canterbury.gov.uk or write to Consultations Team, Canterbury City Council, 14 Rose Lane, Canterbury, CT1 2UR.

If you need a paper copy of the survey, or if you have a need or disability that means you need the document (or aspects of it) in a different format, please contact consultations@canterbury.gov.uk.

If you would like to see what questions you will be asked before you start filling in the survey, you can see a list of the questions.

All the feedback we receive will be considered in early 2025 before a revised tenant engagement framework is confirmed in the Spring of 2025.
