National Tree Week is organised by The Tree Council as a celebration of trees and marks the start of the winter tree planting season.
Its main aims are the mass planting of trees, combating climate change, enhancing biodiversity, community wellbeing and the long-term care of newly-planted trees.
Our Tree, Woodland and Hedge Strategy has many of the same objectives, together with improving the management and connectivity of our woodland sites.
This autumn/winter we will be planting around 2,000 trees in the Whitstable area.
