Holocaust Memorial Day marked by Peace Garden silver birch tree planting

The Lord Mayor of Canterbury, Cllr Anne Dekker, was joined by the Dean of Canterbury, the Very Rev’d Dr David Monteith, and Rabbi Cohen, to mark Holocaust Memorial Day today (Friday 27 January) by planting a silver birch tree in the Peace Garden in the Dane John Gardens.

Guests gathered to remember the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
