Tree-mendous result for Pilgrims Hospice!

Thank you to everyone in the district who chose to have their real Christmas tree recycled through the Pilgrims Hospice charity collection.

The total raised in donations for our patch was more than £19,000 – that’s more than double the amount raised last year. A fantastic result!

In total, just over 1,000 trees were collected from the streets of the district by the Pilgrims Hospice team.

And across the three districts that took part – the others being Thanet and Ashford – £57,000 was raised for local hospice care.

Pilgrims Hospice has thanked everyone for their support.

Fundraising Manager Kate Duddell said: “We can only provide the tree recycling service to the local community with the invaluable support of our much-loved and dedicated volunteers who donate their time, vehicles and services for local hospice care. We just couldn’t do it without them and think you are all amazing!

“I would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who registered their tree for collection. Each and every donation makes a difference to the £11 million we have to fundraise each year in order to keep our services running.”
