Upgrade to Memorial Park play area complete

Our £45,000 project to upgrade the children’s play area at Herne Bay Memorial Park is now complete.

Several new pieces of equipment have been installed to complement the equipment already in place.

On Tuesday (21 November), Sheriff Cllr Tom Mellish was joined by local councillors and guests to officially unveil the new pieces and also try them out.

Cabinet member for the coastal towns, Cllr Chris Cornell, said: “This is a popular play area with lots of great equipment. My own children particularly like the climbing boulders.

“Even on a chilly day like Tuesday there were families out and about enjoying the play area. We are very pleased to see this upgrade has been so well received.”

The work was paid for from developer contributions following granted planning permissions.
