Proposed changes to parking restrictions
We’re proposing to make a number of changes to parking restrictions on roads across the district, and would like to hear your views.

Somner Close, Canterbury | Removal of one parking bay to avoid obstruction of a resident’s drive |
Zealand Road, Canterbury | Extend the double yellow lines west of the junction with Cambridge Road to prevent parking close to a resident’s drive |
Knott’s Lane, Canterbury |
Double yellow lines to prohibit parking in the new section of Knotts Lane leading to Cobden Place |
Palace Street, Canterbury | Make the loading ban enforceable so that loading and unloading are restricted to the loading areas provided |
General, Canterbury | Increase the cost of Visitor Permits in line with other parking charges and inflation |
Richmond Street and Hanover Street, Herne Bay | Extend double yellow lines to accommodate access to a new development; create new parking bays in Hanover Street and extend parking bays in Richmond Street to compensate |

Valkyrie Avenue, Whitstable | Make the single yellow line between Grimthorpe Avenue and Sandpiper Road apply seven days a week to prevent parking of large vehicles.

If you would like to object to a proposal you should email our Transportation team before consultation ends on 20th August at 5pm.
All objections will be reported to the Joint Transportation Board at their meeting on 21st September.
