Students have their say on harbour’s future

We were very pleased to welcome a group of students from Canterbury Academy to Whitstable Harbour yesterday (Thursday 23 November).

Organised in partnership with Amelix Entrepreneurship Academy, the event was part of the continuing public consultation on our draft Whitstable Harbour Strategic Plan.

The group was met and shown round by Harbour Board Chairman, Cllr Chris Cornell. This was followed by a discussion session (pictured below) about the harbour and the plans for its future.

Cllr Cornell said: “Our draft strategic plan for the harbour is all about ensuring it exists for future generations and as such it’s really important to hear the views of young people.

“A huge thanks to Amelix and the students at Canterbury Academy for visiting and for giving us their feedback.”

The public consultation on the plan continues on our website with another public event taking place at the South Quay Shed on Wednesday 13 December between 5pm and 7pm.
