A district judge yesterday (Tuesday 24 August) threw out an appeal against a decision by Canterbury City Council’s Licensing Committee to say no to plans to sell alcohol on a beach in Whitstable.

The mystery surrounding the appearance of a series of sculptures outside The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge in Canterbury’s city centre has been solved.
